Have trialled Edmodo this year. Having students post questions and problems in an online environment has given them confidence, ability to complete set tasks and a feeling of achievement. Many of our students are not able to seek academic assistance at home and Edmodo has given them the thinking " I can do this'.

Cross curricular literacy app 'icommunicate' has been the best way to build visual dictionaries for students. You can build story boards around topics e.g. Automotive TAFE, Chemistry and it gives them quick access to identify and spell words.

Using Google Earth and Google Maps for Geometry is easy and engaging. To measure how far from home to school or to calculate the area of my house makes it visually simple.

http://todaysmeet.com/ is a quick free way for students and teachers to write comments and add ideas. Simply create a room, give the URL and you are on your way. You can print and save them after.
